Engaging the services of an Educational Support Consultant will help bridge the gap between your child’s preschool educators and their family, occupational or speech therapists to ensure that your child’s development and achievements can be met with the appropriate intervention and support.  Your child’s pre-school educators play a vital role in supporting play and learning and with the guidance and support of an educational support consultant they will be able to extend your child’s play and learning as it happens by using strategies tailored to your child.

Educational Support Consultant, Lisa Kardachi, has a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood) and Bachelor of Education and as a former preschool Director Lisa has 30 years of hands-on experience in developing strategies to support children with challenges to grow and succeed.  Lisa also specialises in mentoring early childhood educators to identify and understand a child’s individual profile and adapt their interactions to better support the child.

Lisa is able to support your child during their learning journey by:

• Visiting their preschool or early childhood service to engage with educators to ensure that inclusion in all play and learning activities is a priority.

• Visiting your child and family in the home environment. Using functional play therapy with behavioural support to build on their successes.

• Working in conjunction with all other professionals who work with your child to form a cohesive team.

• Providing an Individual Learning Plan for your child with shared goals and objectives.

• Supporting the entire family to assist in meeting the needs of all family members by understanding the unique needs of your family unit.

• Consulting with preschools and early childhood services to obtain appropriate funding for children with additional needs.
